If a visa bearer is to stay in China longer than the duration of stay allowed on the visa, approval must be obtained from local public security authorities above the county level before the duration of stay expires.
1) F Visa Application Procedures
A. Applicants
Foreign citizens invited to China on official visit, survey, educator programmes, business, science & technology or cultural exchange programmes, short-term training, internship, etc.
B. Application Documents
1. Passport with current visa
2. Registration Form of Temporary Residence in Beijing
3. Visa or Residence Permit Application Form with seal of hosting company
4. A recent 2-inch photo with white or light blue background
5. F Visa Application Letter by hosting organisation to Beijing Municipal Administration of Entry & Exit
6. Currently audited Business Licence issued by the commercial department

Those who originally had Chinese citizenship but now have a foreign passport need to cancel their Chinese ID and household registration beforehand
C、 Term of Validity
Zero/single/double-entry visa with a validity under six months or a 6/12-month multi-entry visa can be issued with no limit to the number of times, subject to a maximum duration of 12 months’ consecutive stay from date of entry such visas can be issued.
D、 Time for Approval
Approval upon submission of requisite documents will take five working days, not including Saturday or the application is submitted.
2) Procedures of L Visa Application for Foreign Citizens
A、 Applicants
Foreign Citizens travelling with a tourist visa in Beijing.
B、 Application Documents
1. Passport with current visa
2. Registration Form of Temporary Residence in Beijing
3. Visa or Residence Permit Application Form
4. A recent 2-inch photo with white or light blue background
5. Documents certifying financial support for living cost in Beijing (e.g.certificate of deposit, at an average of US$100 per day).
Note:

Those who originally had Chinese citizenship but now have a foreign passport need to cancel their Chinese ID and household registration beforehand.
C、 Term of Validity
One month zero/single-entry visa is issued a maximum of twice.
D、 Time for Approval
